Highlights of West Zone PEDICON 2022, Rajkot
The Academy of Pediatrics, Rajkot organized a regional pediatric conference titled West Zone PEDICON 2022 from 16th to 18th September 2022. The conference was held under the aegis of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) - Gujarat state branch.
Introduction
After a long wait of two years finally, the West Zone PEDICON 2022 was announced and completed successfully in the Rajkot city of Gujarat, for this special event, the elite panel of speakers was chosen from all over the country to cover the relevant topics for D2D practice. The event was planned in such a way that all the delegates can have a combination of learning+leisure, a small gateway that also enhances their practising career.
Pre-conference Workshop
Before the main conference began, a workshop was organized to give all the attendees an overview of the conference. Multiple scientific programs were conducted at the same time and everyone was excited to learn and discuss the subject of their interest.
Scientific programs
The conference contained 23 different scientific sessions, 9-panel discussions and 33 Individual talks. With so much to cover and so little time, all the delegates were quick to find their respective conference halls. A total of 350 delegates from all over the country attended and benefited from this conference. Parallel events were taking place at two locations.

Inauguration Ceremony of a chapter on Pediatric Infectious Disease
A special inauguration ceremony took place where the dignitaries of the event launched a Pediatric infectious disease chapter under the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) - Gujarat. It was a proud moment for the entire Pediatrics community.
Gala Dinner & Garba Night
The Gala dinner was organized with delicious Gujarati cuisine to satisfy everyone's taste buds followed by the main highlight of the conference, Garba! The grand celebration of the conference was planned in a way that delegates can enjoy and dance to the beats of traditional Gujarati Garba. All the delegates were eager and participated with high enthusiasm to have a good time.
The Farewell
Everyone learnt something from this event. The combination of learning & relaxation ended on a sweet simple note where everyone bid farewell to their peers. Some of the delegates that fell in love with the city decided to stay a little longer and explore Rajkot and its nearby attractions while others carried the memorable recollections and headed toward practising and serving their patients.
