Master in Hospital Administration (MHA) is a three years post-graduation degree for candidates who are looking for a career in management, administration, and leadership of hospitals, and healthcare systems. This program helps prepare healthcare professionals who are willing to effectively respond to the diverse and ever-changing healthcare sector. There has been a rise in the demand for Hospital Administrators, especially after COVID. The tasks of an administrator may seem easy to an outsider but that isn’t the case. Eligibility Criteria For MHA Course:

Candidates are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in any course related to Science, Commerce, Arts, Law, MBBS, BDS, BHMS, B.Sc., Nursing, BPT, BAMS, B.Sc. Allied Health Science, Veterinary Sciences, and B.Sc. Pharm from any legitimate university with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. The minimum percentage required for admission may vary from college to college.

Entrance Exam To Get Enrolled In MHA Course:

There is no such specific entrance exam; each university conducts its exam. But the two most common entrance exams are listed below:

CAT: It is conducted once a year across the country in November in the major cities. The registration for this exam begins in July. Candidates are required to have a score of 50% to be eligible to sit for CAT. Candidates of reserved categories get a relaxation of 5%.

MAT: This exam is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) four times a year.

Job Prospects After MHA:

There is a rise in competition between government and private hospitals about which entity can provide their patients with the best healthcare services. This has led to an increasing demand for healthcare administrators. A person who has pursued a Master's in Hospital Administration can easily get an entry-level job as an Assistant Medical Superintendent or a Deputy or Medical Superintendent. Aside from these positions, a Master of Health Administration graduate can find a job as an Executive Assistant, Facility Head, Business Sales Head, and more such titles at various pharma companies.
